Six guests. That is all.
Your own bedroom, your own name on the day. We do not run a program that treats everyone as the same person.
Opening November 2026 · Tallai, Gold Coast Hinterland
What if stepping away from addiction or mental health challenges meant stepping into a private sanctuary designed entirely around you?
Welcome to Haven Recovery Retreats — a private, luxury residential recovery experience on the Gold Coast.
Here, evidence-based treatment, experienced clinicians, holistic therapies, wellness and personalised support come together in one discreet setting — with a maximum of just six guests at any time.
No institutional environment.
No one-size-fits-all program.
No getting lost in the system.
Just privacy, exceptional care and the space to focus completely on rebuilding your health, relationships and life.
Private. Personalised. Holistic.
A different way to recover.
The Haven approach
Haven Recovery Retreats opens in Tallai in November 2026. We take six people at a time. Everyone has their own bedroom, and a recovery plan written for them — not a timetable copied from the person in the next room.
Like family — a place where you’re truly seen, heard, and supported. It’s not just about breaking free from addiction or mental health struggles. It’s about rediscovering yourself, in a place that feels like home. If you’re ready to rewrite your story, this is where it starts.
Your own bedroom, your own name on the day. We do not run a program that treats everyone as the same person.
We combine evidence-based practice with a deeply human way of working. Every session is tailored, every approach is personal, and every guest is met exactly where they are.
Real change does not come from a whiteboard or a worksheet. It comes from confronting what has been hidden, held, or hurting — and being guided safely through it.
The pool, a proper meal, sleep, a walk toward the view. A lot of the change happens after the session ends, when you are simply with yourself.
Mornings can start in the private spa — hot and cold hydrotherapy, the sauna, the spa — with a superfood or detox smoothie if you want something gentle. Reiki, massage and personal training are there when the body needs more than talk. Evenings might be a film, a game, a talk, a bath, a book, or time for meditation. Nothing is compulsory. The hours between sessions are not left empty.
The setting
The house sits in Tallai. On a clear evening you can see the Gold Coast. Mornings start slowly. There is a pool, a spa and a tennis court, and the day still has real work in it.
We stop at six so the house can stay private. Every weekend, family, friends and children are welcome to come up.
Stillness
The house is the still point. A short drive into the hinterland and you are at rainforest waterfalls. Down the hill, the beaches. Neither is a session. Both are why people can finally exhale here.
Who comes
Bail applications
Facing charges is a particular kind of overwhelm, especially when drugs are involved. It lands on you, and it lands on the people at home.
Haven offers a structured, therapeutic stay that can sit inside a bail application or a diversion plan. Once a place is confirmed, we write a letter of acceptance for the court. It sets out the program, and how the stay is meant to support recovery, rehabilitation, and a return to ordinary life.
We do not give legal advice, and we do not promise bail. The court decides.
“The difficult part is rarely the decision. It is finding a house private enough, and serious enough, to stay with it.”
The retreat
A private house in Tallai. The linen and the view are real. They are also how people start to feel safe enough to talk.
In the house
How it feels
Six people stay at once, and each of you has a private bedroom. Therapy, rest, meals and movement are shaped around you. There is no single script for the house.
Weekends are for family. Partners, parents, friends and children are welcome — we would rather they came. Things mend faster when the people who matter are allowed in.
The residence

Programs
This is the program we open with in November 2026. Six bedrooms. If you need medical support to come off, we arrange that with a doctor. The days have a shape — therapy, food, movement, rest — and that shape is yours, not a photocopy.
For people whose drinking or drug use and their mental health have tangled together — and for people who are struggling and have never used at all. A psychiatrist and a therapist work alongside each other.
Every weekend the house is open to the people around you. Family, friends and children are welcome. How family support works.
Leaving is part of the stay, not the end of it. We plan what happens if things slip, we check in, and the door stays open if you need to come back.
A clear program your lawyer can put in a bail application or a diversion plan, with letters the court can actually read. Read how bail stays work.
The 28 days
Twenty-eight days is long enough to come down, tell the truth, and leave with something written. It is not a cure, and we will not pretend it is. It is a private start. Six people in the house. No one else.
Your own bedroom from the first night. Sleep, food, and a slow start. If you need a doctor to come off safely, that is arranged before the therapy gets loud. The first conversations are about what actually brought you here.
One-to-one therapy, most days, in a private room. A psychiatrist joins if medication needs a proper look. This is usually when the pattern shows: the drink, the drug, the anxiety or the grief sitting under it.
Movement, the pool, time outside, meals at the long table. Family, friends and children are welcome every weekend of the stay, including this one. What is happening at home is part of the program, not a visit bolted on at the end.
You leave with a post-program care plan, written for your life. Who you call. What you do if it slips. We do not stop at the gate. After you have left Haven, we keep working with you. If a court date is in the diary, the program outline and letters are ready for your solicitor before you go.
A day
The day has a rhythm. It is not the same hour for all six of you, and it is not a timetable copied from the person in the next room. A typical day, with times.
Time to wake properly. Therapy when it is yours. Or the private spa — hot and cold hydrotherapy, sauna — and a superfood or detox smoothie if that is how you want to begin.
A meal cooked in the house. A walk toward the view, the pool, or rest, if rest is the work.
A second session, massage, reiki, or personal training. Or time alone in your room. You are not on display.
Dinner if you want company. A film, a game, a talk worth sitting with. A bath, a book, meditation. Then the hills, and not much else.
Included across the 28 days: your private bedroom, one-to-one therapy, psychiatry when it is needed, meals, superfood and detox smoothies, personal training, massage, reiki, the pool and private spa, family weekends, one optional escorted activity each week, a post-program care plan, and support after you have left. Bail paperwork is prepared when a solicitor asks for it. Outside doctors and pathology are explained before you commit. If a hospital detox is the safer first step, we say so.
Therapies
Every session is tailored. You are met where you are — not where a program says you should be.
In the room
Psychology, counselling and the skills that hold a week together. A psychiatrist joins if medication needs a proper look. Trauma work is slow, and only with your say-so.
One-to-one, most days, on the pattern underneath the use. A private room. Your story, not a group script.
Time to say the thing properly. You are not moved on because the hour is up and the next person is waiting.
When the people at home are ready to be in the room. A conversation about what broke, and what you want to be different.
What to do with a craving, a Sunday afternoon, and the first week back in your own life.
A structured way through early recovery: triggers, skills, and what the next day actually looks like.
A gentle practice for what talking has not shifted yet. Offered. Never pushed.
Around the work
Sleep, food, and the body you have been living in. Superfood and detox smoothies are there when a full plate is too much. If a doctor or another appointment is part of getting well, we make room for it.
Personal training, written for you. Not a class you are expected to keep up with.
Massage, reiki, the private spa — hot and cold hydrotherapy, sauna — the pool, a quiet afternoon. Recovery is not only talking.
Partners or loved ones are welcome to stay the night with you. Family, friends and children are encouraged. The weekdays stay quiet.
Each week
One escorted activity, included and optional. Chosen with you. You may decline and remain at the house.
Chosen from the experiences above, or another activity agreed in advance. Not every activity suits every guest, and none replaces clinical treatment. If a hospital detox is the safer first step, we say so.
A typical day
A typical day at Haven Recovery Retreats, in Tallai. Six guests. The hours below are how the house usually runs. They flex if rest, or something private, is what you need.
Morning
Start with an early drive to the beach for a walk or a swim. From Tallai that is the Gold Coast, close by, or Byron Bay when that is the morning. Personal training is offered through the week, along with yoga and meditation.
Come back for breakfast. Whole-food meals, and superfood smoothies, and you choose. The beach is behind you. The day starts properly at the table.
Everyone in the house gathers — the six guests, and the staff — to talk through the day’s plans and anything the house needs. Clinical staff are there for individual needs and for anything you want changed in your program.
Each day varies. Morning sessions may be group therapy, an individual session, an appointment with Haven’s medical team, a psychoeducational session, or equine-assisted therapy.
Afternoon
A whole-food lunch, cooked in the house, then time to rest.
Art therapy, individual massage, holistic fitness, and yoga. Workshops on self-regulation, aftercare, and relapse prevention. The afternoon is not the same session for every person.
A whole-food dinner, then the evening. Depending on your needs, that may be a 12-step meeting, a meditation group, or the private spa — hot and cold hydrotherapy, sauna and spa. Or a film, a game, a talk, a bath, reading, or time set aside for meditation.
Not every morning starts at 6.15, and you are not in every session. The one bigger outing each week — horse riding, or something else you choose — sits on top of this, not instead of it. Nothing here replaces clinical treatment.
For families
Addiction rarely affects one person. Families often spend months or years trying to hold everything together — searching for answers, making calls, managing crises, and wondering what happens next.
Haven gives your family something concrete to move toward: a private residential setting in the Gold Coast hinterland, a structured recovery program, a confirmed pathway into care, and a team you can speak to.
When legal proceedings are involved, we can also work alongside your loved one and their solicitor to provide clear information about their proposed stay and rehabilitation program.
You do not have to create a recovery plan on your own.
There can be a real place, a real program, and a clear next step.
Weekend visits
Family, friends and children are welcome every weekend of the stay. Partners and loved ones can stay the night.
It is a visit, not a clinic day. There is a pool, the hills, and a table. Weekdays stay quiet so the work can happen.
Family sessions are a way to talk about what broke, and what you want to be different when they come home. No one is put on the spot. You can sit one conversation out.
They are part of the life someone is trying to get back to. The weekend is a visit, not a clinic day. There is a pool, the hills, and a table big enough for them.
Many enquiries start with a parent or a partner. Tell us what is going on. We will say honestly if Haven is the right house, and we will call you back.
The other guests’ privacy still holds. We will not discuss someone’s care with family unless they have asked us to. A weekend visit does not repair a household on its own. It does mean no one is doing this in secret. Request a call.
Bail applications for rehab
More than a bed for the weeks before court. A structured stay, for people who want rehabilitation to be part of what is put forward.
We work with you and your solicitor. The plan is clear enough to sit in a bail application, a sentencing proposal, or a diversion pathway.
A real program. A quiet house. Written down, and ready for your lawyer.
For you, and the people beside you
Facing charges and a drinking or drug problem at the same time is a particular kind of hard. There are dates, lawyers, and decisions. Underneath it, the thing that brought you here is still there.
Haven is a private house for people who want the treatment to be real, not a line someone wrote the night before court.
If the house is the right fit, the stay can sit in what your solicitor puts before the court. A bail application, a sentencing proposal, or a diversion pathway. We write down the program, how the days run, where you sleep, and what is asked of you. Your lawyer then has something solid to take in.
We cannot promise what the court will do, and we do not try to. What we can offer is a real stay. Structure, clinical care, and someone who will notice if you slip.
The house is in the Gold Coast hinterland. The point is to step out of the life around the use, and into therapy, the body, rest, and a day that has a shape.
Not a holding place while the matter runs. A place to start changing what happens next.
We are not a law firm. What we give your lawyer is plain: where you will be, how the days run, who is involved clinically, and how we report progress.
Once a place is confirmed, we write a letter of acceptance for the court. It sets out the program in full — what the days hold, who is involved, and how the stay is meant to support recovery, rehabilitation, and a return to ordinary life. We will speak with your lawyer directly, if you want us to.
A private house in the Gold Coast hinterland, a known day, and a person who will pick up the phone. You should not have to invent a plan the night before court.
Bail is a legal question. Getting well is a human one. The house is set up so the work can start while the matter finds its way.
What we provide
A bail stay is still a stay. Six people. A private bedroom. A daily plan. Clinical support, and the quieter hours — the pool, the spa, a meal, a walk. Holistic, in the sense that the whole day is part of the work.
You get time to reconnect with yourself and to build a life you actually want to stay in. The paperwork is so a court can see that. It is not the point of the house.
Haven Recovery Retreats provides the program and the paperwork. We do not give legal advice, and we do not guarantee bail, diversion, or a sentence. Ask your solicitor if a residential stay is the right thing to put forward.
Payment options
We will help you explore a way forward.
Making the decision to seek treatment is significant. Once you have made it, the next question is often practical. How do I make this possible?
At Haven, the financial conversation should be clear, private and considered. Depending on your circumstances, there may be several ways to fund your stay — private payment, family support, payment arrangements, eligible access to superannuation, and finance through our payment partner.
When your health, relationships and future are at stake, the first conversation should be about getting well.
Ways to fund your stay
TLC payment plan
We have partnered with TLC so private treatment can be financially accessible. With one application, eligible clients can apply for funding toward their treatment and, if approved, spread the cost over repayments rather than paying the whole fee upfront.
When you are ready to begin, the full upfront cost does not have to stand between you and treatment.
One application. Flexible repayments. A way to begin sooner.
Finance is provided by a third party and is subject to application, eligibility, approval, fees and terms. Haven does not decide whether finance is approved.
Early release of super
In some circumstances you may be eligible to apply for early release of superannuation on compassionate grounds, to assist with eligible medical treatment costs.
We can explain the process and provide the treatment documents where that is appropriate. Eligibility and approval are decided outside Haven. We cannot guarantee that an application will be approved.
Before you commit, you receive a written outline of the program, what is included, and any costs we already know will sit outside the stay.
Your private room, meals, the therapeutic program, movement and wellbeing sessions, massage, the shape of the day, and a continuing-care plan. You arrive. We hold the structure, so you can do the work.
Where more medical support is needed, we coordinate appointments with GPs, psychiatrists, pathology and other practitioners. Some of those fees sit outside the stay. Where we can, they are explained before they are arranged.
The end of the stay is the start of the next stage. Before you leave, we write a continuing-care plan around life at home — therapy, appointments, routines, and the people who will be there. Recovery is not how you feel in the house. It is how you live once you are home.
